A couple of weeks ago Miyamoto sort of confirmed that the Zelda HD demo on display at E3 for the Wii U would be a real game, by saying:
This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it. You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure.
I don’t think the quote is as concrete as saying “yes, the demo is becoming a full game,” but it’s a pretty good sign that it’s happening. But, what’s new is Satoru Iwata has said:
Regarding Zelda HD, Japanese developers said that it could not be replicated on other machines. It was made in a relatively short period, so Iwata feels that HD development will not be a problem.
That’s probably the best testament to the power of the system we’ve heard so far.
